Solar Energy Rebate

There are two forms of rebates available when installing a solar energy system:

  1. Assistance when purchasing the system

The first rebate we claim is the federal Government’s Small Scale Technology Certificates (STC’s). By installing Solar energy to your home or business you create STC’s where you will receive 1 STC for every Megawatt of energy your system is expected to produce over the next 14 years. In summary, depending on the size of your system and its location you will receive between $1,000 to $4,500 for your home (and up to $29,000 for your business).

When we install the system, we discount the rebate from the purchase price and complete all necessary paper work at no extra charge.

There are also STC rebates available for Solar Hot Water and heat pumps. The STC’s are valued at around $1000 depending on the system installed.

The price and the amount of STC’s is regulated by the Government and is subject to regular changes. Its unlikely these rebates will last forever, act now to secure your free money…

  1. An ongoing credit on your electricity bills.

When the sun shines on your solar panels they create electricity. If you use this Solar power as it is produced, that’s free electricity! Power you would normally have to pay full price for. In other words Synergy gives a 1 for 1 credit for all electricity consumed as it’s produced. If you don’t use the power the excess flows back to the grid and Synergy pays around 7 cents/kW, less than a third of what it is really worth. Hence the idea is size your system to match your day time usage and use all the power that you produce.

As an example a 3kW system in Perth will produce around 13 units per day. If all this power is used as it is produced it will save you around $1200/year.
